In which He Beautifies Himself with Makeup and a Hairdo

Just for fun: we’re at the wedding beautician, about to have our photos taken. I’ve never been into blow-dryers and make-up, and frankly feel like Liberace.

The sound on the Flixn embed is bad, but I just loved my fiancee’s reaction when I answered her question, “Who is this video for?”

[Update: here's a second, from the photo studio. Funny how in Korea, the groom sees the bride in the wedding array before the ceremony. (Did that culture note make this less fluffy?]

If my battery holds out, I may take the fluff further. Sorry for the serious out there. This sort of thing doesn’t happen every day. It’s kind of special. Marriage 2.0? (And stay tuned for the Ustream invitation. My parents in Alabama will be able to attend that way.)

Nice! You’re looking very George Harrison, circa 1967? http://tinyurl.com/ythba3 Not Liberace at all!

    Hi Clay,

Your tie looks awesome. Is that a bowline or a double fisherman? I don’t think we had to learn that one for the ‘Knots’ patch in Cubscouts.

You two look great. Thanks for posting the videos!

Man, you have quite the clustrmap. I love that feature. Jess and I are always checking out the hits on our blog. It must be that childhood (and still adult) fascination with maps.

She looks like she has SO much patience with you! My hubby is like that and rolls his eyes a lot at things I do and when I drag him into photos, webcams, etc. lol

That was so much fun! I’m still smiling.

You bride is beautiful; she will be radiant on the Day, so seeing her dress ahead of time, though contrary to customs in my area, won’t really lessen the effect. And there’s something to be said for getting pictures out of the way ahead of time.

    That tie…very interesting.

Remember, we’ll want close-ups of the ring, the flowers, the entire wedding party, etc. I promise to dress in my best bib and tucker for the occasion.

Now where shall we send the gifts?

@Ginger: My students just said I looked like a Beatle too, so some consensus is forming?

@Chris: The tie is that difficult “clip-on” knot your scout master drilled you in, remember? (And ClustrMaps and other widgets are more for demo purposes when I explain blogging to students and adults – heck, half the stuff I put on this blog is so I can say to students, “See? Isn’t that cool? You can do this too!” – but they are fun, aren’t they?)

@Pat, Carolyn, Diane: She is a good sport, the tie is rented with everything else (and so, so culturally telling), and you’re all already gifts.

Thanks for humoring me. It was fun.

P.S. As for Flixn? It’s shutting down. All Flixn vids will be lost if people don’t download and save them before the summer is over. I learned this by using it for this fluffy post.

I’m so enjoying your stream of wedding prep. It looks like the prep went well. You both look like you were having a good time. It’s a shame the video wasn’t cooperating, but fun anyway. Looking forward to the wedding.
