Seeking Web-based Slideshow Tool with Voice, Music, Embed Features

with 7 commentsPrint This Post Print This Post

[Update 7 June '07: The closest solution I could find was SplashCast. See this tutorial.]

If anybody can point me to such a tool, I could really use it. I’ve searched to no avail. Spresent has disabled the voice recording feature in its latest version.

I’ve told my students to create Powerpoint presentations for a sort of “Real World Service Project” a la Water-buffalo. I’m hoping to find a 2.0 application that allows the upload of Powerpoint, audio and voice editing, and then embedding.

I have quite a learning curve on this one, and am amazed at how skinny Slideshare, Zoho Show, Spresent, and other such services are, so any input would be great.

  2. Kevin, check out SplashCast. It allows online voice recording, at least, though I don’t think it allows two audio files (ie, music AND voice).

  7. Thanks Berel. I rarely have time to read those “catalogues of tools” posts, being a classroom teacher, but I’ve seen the one you link to (saw it on K12Online, didn’t I?) But thanks anyway :)
