Korea, China, Canada, America So Far in the "1,001+ Flat World Nights" Project

So far, two Canadian schools, one American school, my Korean school, and (as of ten minutes ago) a Shanghai, China school seem ready to begin the flat world writing workshop on the open-to-all wiki. That only leaves 138 other countries. (Seriously…why not? It’s not like wikis or internets close, or finish when the bell rings, or the quarter/semester/school year ends.)

Since the whole project is not clock- or calendar-bound (like Second Life, it’s always open and always daytime, if we want it to be, on the wiki), date of entry and exit don’t matter.

The goal really is to publish more than 1,001 high quality student stories from around the world. No matter how many years that takes. And to link them all together on a blook–a series of stories spanning all the writers’ blogs.

So jump in, other countries. This will not be labor-intensive. It will be fun.

Hi, I’m a teacher from New Zealand, year 5/6 students, how can I get involved in this writing project?

Jane, I’m a Yank. What age group is year 5/6?

Interesting idea to open it to all grades and ages. Let’s play with that. No reason it can’t be done.

I’m going to get my students to make a webpage to consolidate all of this, but in the meantime, I’ll email you so we can talk :)
