Will Richardson nails Diigo’s strengths (to which I’d add their prompt support help) here.
Really, help Diigo survive. I live by it. It’s better than del.ico.us, but cooperates with it (and us) by auto-forwarding all bookmarks and tags to your delicious account, and importing your delicious bookmarks and tags to your Diigo bookmarks.
And Diane leaves some good ideas about classroom applications of Diigo in her comments here.
We all seem to agree that Diigo needs to add a “share annotations with friends” feature–ideally, in a way that allows the choice of which friend for each annotation. That way, I could share my annotations with my collaborating teachers, while still hiding them from my learners–who need to learn to read critically by highlighting and annotating from scratch….
